Zak graciously let me steal this idea from him, and I wanted to share it with you all. I’m not a huge fan of New Year’s resolutions, because they all seem cliche and I forget all about them in about 3 days. However, when it comes to my birthday, I seem to have no trouble contemplating my future.
I want this next year, my 26th year, to be one of the best ever! I want to do and see things that either A) I’ve never done before or B) should do more often. I live in one of the best outdoor-activity states and I rarely take advantage of having the mountains less than 30 minutes from my house.
So, without further ado, here are my 26 to-do’s for my 26th year:
- Hike a 14er
- Canoe/kayak Dillon Reservoir
- Go to the Sundance Film Festival
- Snowshoe in RMNP
- Fall in love
- Get the full bonus amounts at work each quarter
- Go to Cheyanne Mountain Zoo
- Have brunch at the Broadmoore
- Grow a lush garden
- Learn to roast a chicken
- Travel somewhere that requires my passport
- Travel somewhere outside of the state
- Eat at least one thing a week from our CSA bag
- Learn to grill the perfect steak
- Throw at least one party/get-together a month
- Have a reason to wear each of my three LBD’s
- Go on a full-moon snowshoe hike
- Treat myself to a shopping-spree for new clothes for work
- Go to at least one concert
- See fireworks in DC
- Go hiking with my parents at least once this summer
- Jump in a pile of freshly-raked leaves
- Ride my bike every day to work in the summer
- Make limoncello
- Go to a game for each of the Denver professional sports teams (except the Nuggets– I hate basketball)
- Write my 3rd NaNoWriMo novel in November
Come February 28 (ONE WEEK!!!), let the games begin 🙂 I’d love it if I could cross off every single one of these– wish me luck!

Wish you Luck dear, With luck, would like to suggest to understand more about how to focus on “What you should focus upon” & “What Not” as most of the time we fall in the trap of doing what we should not do.
Check out http://architsharma.wordpress.com/2012/02/16/23/ and let me know your comments on the same.

Thanks!
Hey, I can offer to help with a few:
4. Snowshoe in RMNP – I would love to do this!
16. Have a reason to wear each of my three LBD’s -because I’m already visiting to snowshoe?
17. Go on a full-moon snowshoe hike -for the same reason as #4
And I can highly recommend a location for #20: https://picasaweb.google.com/100159810054142434574/July4th2010FireworksOnNationalMall#

Oh my god! I could be a serial killer (I’m not).
Um, snowshoeing… is that still available? Or do we have to wait until Winter? If you read any of my past posts, you’ll see I’m a bit of a traveler. I was in CO-NM-TX recently, for the balloon fiesta, great sand dunes NP, Denver, etc, etc, etc. The year before that I was in Northern Cali and Yosemite and hiking/snowshoeing around (first time ever!). My point is: if we make plans, I’m really going to go.
Thanks for the compliment on the photos. Good news: I’ll take plenty with you in them if we do manage to work a blog-snowshoeing trip out 🙂
I think we should email each other rather than continuing to comment this way. I’m not sure if you can see my email… I can’t find yours. I can always post mine here.

If you are a serial killer, I should warn you that I have over half-a-dozen friends who are Marines so they will hunt you down if you kill me!
And it might not be “winter” where you are, but it is still very much winter here in the mile-high city 🙂 So if you are able to come out here in March or April, there will still be plenty of snow! (we’re expecting up to 30 inches this weekend in the mountains) But if that doesn’t work, waiting until November or December will have to be the plan.
But yes, let’s continue this via email. I don’t have mine posted anywhere, so here it is: minikat27@gmail.com
Talk to you soon!
